How do I measure my baby/child feet?

How to find the right shoe size for my child? That is an important question that many parents are asking. You probably already know that the feet of children are not standardized according to their age. Some have larger feet than others and some have smaller feet than others. The best way to find out the right shoe size for your child is to measure the feet. There is an easy way to measure your child’s feet with good precision. It is sufficient to draw the outline of the foot on a sheet of paper and then measure the distance from the heel to the toe. Measures must be taken flat and not on a sloped surface as the feet of a child is soft this could otherwise give a false measurement.

We advise you to measure your child’s feet as follows:

1. Place your child's foot flat on the floor while the he or she is wearing a regular pair of socks
2. Uncurl your child’s toes if necessary, so that the foot is as straight as possible.
3. Measure the total length of your child's foot from the edge of the heel to the tip of the big toe. Use a tape measure or ruler that measures in centimeters.
4. Repeat this procedure for the other foot. Use the measurement for the largest foot to calculate the shoe size for your child.

Once the child's foot is measured, you can refer to the table below. Also for the comfort, you should add 1 to 1.5 cm at the extent of the foot. But make sure not to take too large size shoes for your child. A little tip is also to measure your child's feet towards the end of the day. This will ensure that any expansion or swelling has already taken place and you are taking the largest reading.
